Slow Cooker Italian Beef Sandwich
Italian beef that is soft and full of flavor, cooked slowly in a savory broth with onions and peppers. Great for making tasty sandwiches.
Ingredients:
- 3 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup pepperoncini peppers, sliced
- 1/4 cup pepperoncini juice
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Hoagie rolls
- Provolone cheese slices optional
Instructions:
Place beef chuck roast in the slow cooker
Add beef broth, sliced pepperoncini peppers, pepperoncini juice, sliced onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, dried thyme, dried rosemary, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until beef is tender and easily shreds with a fork
Remove beef from the slow cooker and shred using two forks
Return shredded beef to the slow cooker and mix well with the juices
Split hoagie rolls and fill with the Italian beef mixture
Top with provolone cheese slices if desired
Serve hot and enjoy!
